Augusta police are searching for a 3-year-old girl who may be missing after city firefighters responded Tuesday morning to a reported medical emergency at 26 Sewall St. and found that the girl, Lenore “Lenny” Wilson, was not at the home.

City firefighters and police officers searched the area with members of the Maine State Police and Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office, said Deputy Chief Jared Mills in a news release Tuesday morning, but were not able to locate Wilson.

After interviewing several witnesses, police now suspect Wilson is with a man and woman who were at the Sewall Street apartment, but whom police have not been able to identify, Mills said.

“However we have not been able to identify these individuals who are possibly with Lenore,” Mills wrote. “It is possible that the male and female who may be with Lenore do not know that we are looking for her.”

Police are asking anyone who can identify the man and woman or who have information about Wilson’s whereabouts to contact Augusta police at 626-2370.
