FARMINGTON — Adria “Dee” Keneagy is SugarWood Gallery’s Artist of the Month and will be feted at an Open House Reception set for 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at 248 Broadway. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served.

Keneagy has this to say about her upcoming show, according to a news release from the gallery. “Gallery curators tend to favor a “body of work” from their exhibitors, which basically means a cohesive series of paintings in either a particular style and/or on a specific theme. It’s something I seem to be inherently unable to produce though I’ve been at it for some 20 years.”

“I don’t know why; whether it’s a lack of focus, or discipline, a rebellious nature, or I just haven’t found my ‘voice’ yet, in which case I better get on with it. The problem stems from my instant seduction by every style, medium, and palette that I encounter, and I immediately want to delve in and try them all out. Just a flibbertigibbet.”

“What I offer in my upcoming exhibit at Sugarwood Gallery is a melange of my experimentation since I last showed there a few years ago. This encompasses watercolor, acrylics, pastels, ink, monotypes and collages in all of them, from abstract to representational.”

Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
