As a scientist and an environmentalist, I support Henry Beck’s candidacy for state senator. He has a perfect voting record this year on issues such as solar power, public lands, designation of a national monument, and Land for Maine’s Future. I also appreciate his stance on farming.

Without a doubt, farming is a traditional strength here in central Maine. In the Maine House, Beck has been a supporter of local farming. In 2014, he voted for comprehensive legislation that would allow farmers to collaborate in moving products to market and promoted locally grown Maine food in schools and hospitals. Unfortunately, this legislation was blocked by a veto and partisan politics. In the Senate, Beck will work for farmers and local agriculture.

We need leaders in Augusta who can move Maine forward using our state’s strengths. Beck is the best choice.
