THORNDIKE — Danielle McAlpine scored with 14 seconds left in the first half to help the Maine Central Institute field hockey team snap a 1-1 draw with Mount View en route to a 3-1 victory in a Class C North game Tuesday afternoon.
The victory helped the Huskies (12-2) clinch the top seed in the regional playoffs.
Madisyn Hartley and Deangeliz Urena also scored for MCI while Elspeth Taylor had 12 saves.
Rachelle Ravin scored the lone goal for Mount View (7-7), which will enter the playoffs as the likely sixth seed. Alexis Bowman had 12 saves for the Mustangs as well.
