An Old Orchard Beach woman was killed in a car crash on Commercial Street near the Casco Bay Bridge early Wednesday morning.
Rachel Schwartz, 30, was the only occupant of the car and died at the scene, Portland police said. Her 2009 Honda Fit hit a utility pole on Commercial Street around 1:45 a.m.
Commercial Street was closed from High Street to the bridge for several hours after the crash.
Police say they continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Portland police at 874-8532 or 874-8575.
