Please vote! First, without a clear presidential vote, we’ll have another court fight like Bush vs. Gore. Second, Trump and LePage have impugned our voting system and a large turnout will put those stupid remarks to rest. Third, there have been several elections in Maine where a few votes might have changed the outcome, hence our votes really count.
So, please vote. You can register right at the polls.
Maine has a Clean Elections law. Make certain your candidates support that law and insist that funds not be stolen by the governor and Legislature for other purposes. Add to our Clean Election law by voting yes on Question 5 so we don’t have any more minority governors (Democrat, Independent, or Republican). Ranked-choice is a way to have many run-off elections without dragging us endlessly back to the polls and costing us money.
