ALBION — The Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting Monday to appoint a new representative for the town’s school board.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Town Office. A meeting previously scheduled for Nov. 14 has been canceled because of conflicting schedules.

Albion had two members on the School Administrative District 49 board — Kingston Paul and Katrina Dumont. Paul, who was elected to the board seat in March at Town Meeting, resigned from his position Oct. 18 for health-related reasons, according to Selectwoman Beverly Bradstreet.

A few people have expressed interest in the position, Bradstreet said, and the selectmen will vote on the applicants at the meeting Monday night. Whoever wins the position will serve until March 2017, when residents will vote on who should fill Paul’s spot and finish his three-year term.

SAD 49 includes six schools in Clinton, Benton, Fairfield and Albion.
