The Pittsfield Public Library will hold its 2016 Persis Smith Community Read in November featuring four programs centered on the book “Wright Brothers.”

In this book, the author Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David McCullough, shows as never before how two Ohio boys from a remarkable family taught the world to fly.

Copies of the book can be obtained from the public library. Readers are welcome to attend any or all programs of interest. It is not necessary to have read the book to participate in the programs.

Schedule

• Wednesday, Nov. 2, 6 p.m.: Caleb Curtis will talk about aviation and the history of the Pittsfield Municipal Airport.

• Thursday, Nov. 3, 4 p.m.: Lyn Smith will lead a paper airplane making workshop, suitable for all ages.

• Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6 p.m.: Charles Cianchette with talk about antique airplanes.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 4 p.m.: Librarian Holly Williams will facilitate a book discussion.
