STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society’s pictorial 2017 calendars are available for sale. The cover features Stratton High School class of 1967 with Jonathan Sylvester, Douglas Dunphy, Montford Tasker, Raymond Morin, Arthur Essency, Philip Stevens, Roberta Hicks, Margaret Hewett, Terry Wyman and Fernande Dube.
The calendar features:
• January — circa 1900 Jones General Store, 1950 on Main Street.
• February — grooming crew at Sugarlaof 1970-71, John Stinchfield, Fred Townsend, Huey Targett, Clayton “Bownie” Wilbur and Forest Parsons.
• March — Stratton High School basketball team, 1964, Ray Henderson, Mike Savage, Frank Caldwell, Doug Dunphy, Tom Jones, Phil Stevens, Marcel Nadeau, Bob Caldwell and Coach Richard Plante.
• April — Forest and June Parsons with their daughters Lisa and Aleta, 1967.
• May — Flagstaff School, circa 1935, W. Lee Rogers, Cleo Ashley, Theron Stevens, Harry Viles, George Bryant, Virgil Norton, Glenys Wing and Charlotte Burbank.
• June — Stratton graduating class of 1942, Wendall Blackwell, Eleanor Blackwell, Linwood Wright, John Thomas, Kenneth Fotter, Louis McCutcheon, Edgar Marston, Reba Hatch, Geraldine Durrell, Theda Jones, Robert Tague and Roland Fotter.
• July — Ernest Caldwell Sr., with horses Tim and Bell at Les Caldwell’s Farm, Eustis.
• August — Ted Targett with son Kenneth and daughter Debra on Big Tow circa late 1950s.
• September — Bird’s eye view of Stratton and Mount Bigelow, circa 1900.
• October — Sherman and Alice Brackett with their children Vincent, Vivian, Lynn and Peter, 1946.
• November — Shaw House, Eustis Mills, 1885, Satrbird stereowiew.
• December — Mount Bigelow from Eustis.
