Police said they arrested a 29-year-old Lewiston man on a charge of shooting another man some time before 5 a.m. Friday inside an apartment at 343 Pine St.

Jose Pena allegedly shot the victim, 33, in the arm, police said.

Pena was found at 62½ Jefferson St., taken to the police station and subsequently charged with elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. He is being held on $150,000 cash bail.

The wound is not considered to be life-threatening.

The victim, whose name was not released, walked into the St. Mary’s emergency room about 5 a.m. He was transferred to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Police are still investigating whether this shooting was related to a shooting last month.
