DAMARISCOTTA —An AARP Smart Driver Seminar will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main St.

The event is co-sponsored by the center, the American Association of Retired Persons and Lincoln County TRIAD The AARP Driver Safety Program was developed by the AARP in 1979.

This program is a driver refresher course designed to meet the needs of older drivers. It covers such issues as age-related physical changes, declining perceptual skills, local driving problems, license renewal requirements and more.

AARP instructor Joyce Polyniak will teach the course. Cost is $20 for the program, or $15 for AARP members. Participants who successfully complete the course are eligible for a reduction in automobile insurance premiums.

There is a half-hour break scheduled for a brown bag lunch. To reserve a seat, call 563-1363.
