HARTLAND — The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an attempted burglary.

According to a post on the Sheriff Office’s Facebook page, the attempted burglary occurred on Nov. 24 at Wright’s General Store on Commercial Street.

The sheriff’s office posted a surveillance video of the suspect on Dec. 9. The video shows a hooded individual attempting to push in the door, then attempting to break the glass doors with what appears to be a crow bar. The suspect then flees the scene.

While the suspect does not show his or her face, the sheriff’s office is hoping someone may recognize the person’s clothing or mannerisms. Police asked that anyone with information on the burglar call Deputy Joseph Jackson at 858-9535.

The owner of Wright’s General Store on Tuesday declined to comment on the burglary.
