Approximately 18 kids from the Waterville area and 12 kids from the Augusta area, ages 3 to 14, learned the art of pizza making through hands-on experience called Pizza School, according to a news release from Pizza Degree restaurants.

The Nov. 6 Pizza School was courtesy of Pizza Degree, a new restaurant in Waterville.

The Dec. 4 Pizza School was courtesy of Pizza Degree, an Augusta restaurant that just celebrated its first year of business.

“Our goal as a business is to enrich the communities we are in. To us this means bringing more than jobs and phenomenal pizza, but also giving back through investing in the lives of our neighbors” said Spenser Ouellette, owner of Pizza Degree, according to the release.

The kids rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty making their own personal dough balls. The kids then got to make and eat their own pizza.

The Pizza School Program was such a success Pizza Degree will hold another session on Jan. 8, this time in Waterville.

Because of the volume and enthusiastic response, Pizza Degree has decided to schedule more sessions while keeping the cost free of charge for all.
