FAIRFIELD — Hunter Mercier scored 14 points, including a trio of free throws in the final seconds, to lift the Lawrence girls basketball team to a 53-50 win over Oceanside in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday night. Camryn Caldwell hit a 3-pointer with 37 seconds remaining for Lawrence (2-2) to tie the game and set the stage for Mercier.
Gabby Simmons had a game-high 18 for Oceanside (2-2).
WATERVILLE 54, MT. BLUE 36: Jordan Jabar scored a game-high 26 points and hauled in 12 rebounds to lead the host Purple Panthers to the KVAC A win.
Lily Foster added 10 points for Waterville (3-1) while Maddie Martin had five points and seven rebounds.
Mt. Blue (0-4) was led by Leah St. Laurent with nine points and Rebecca Harmon with eight.
MCI 44, ERSKINE 42: Ciera Hamlin scored 12 points and Sydney Morton added eight as the Huskies edged the Eagles in a KVAC game in South China. Christa Carr added six points for MCI (3-2).
Jordan Linscott scored a game-high 20 points to pace Erskine (0-4), while Catherine Silva had 14 points and 12 rebounds.
WINSLOW 67, BELFAST 28: Heather Kervin had 18 points, nine rebounds, seven steals and four assists to pace the Black Raiders to the KVAC B win in Belfast.
Paige Trask added 13 points for Winslow (3-1).
Kayci Faulkingham scored eight points to pace Belfast (1-2).
FOREST HILLS 49, BUCKFIELD 34: Caitlin Logston scored a game-high 17 points and Patricia Lessard added 15 to lead the Tigers in Jackman. Alexandra Lessard chipped in with seven points for the Tigers (2-2) as well.
Seneca Jacobs scored eight points to pace Buckfield (1-3).
MESSALONSKEE 70, CAMDEN HILLS 35: Sophie Holmes scored 14 points, while Gabrielle Wener added 12 points for the Eagles in Oakland.
Lydia Dexter scored 10 points for Messalonskee (4-0).
Kris Kelly led Camden Hills (1-2) with 12 points.
RANGELEY 37, VALLEY 31: Brooke Egan scored 12 points and had four steals as the Lakers prevailed in an East/West Conference game in Rangeley.
Natasha Haley added seven points and 11 rebounds for Rangeley (1-1).
Kendra Sweet led Valley (1-3) with seven points.
CARRABEC 47, HALL-DALE 21: Melanie Clark scored 13 points to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in North Anson.
Maddie Hughes added 11 points for Carrabec (2-2) while Bailey Dunphy had nine.
Hall-Dale (0-4) was led by Amanda Benner with six points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
OCEANSIDE 73, LAWRENCE 62: Mason Cooper scored 43 points but it was not enough as the Mariners earned the KVAC A win in Rockport.
Mike Norton scored 22 points to lead Oceanside (3-0) while Nate Raye added 19.
Braden Ballard and Brandon Hill each had five points for Lawrence (0-4).
WINSLOW 69, BELFAST 63: Jack Morneault scored 18 points and Spencer Miranda added 17 points to lead the Black Raiders to a victory over the Lions in Winslow.
Dylan Hutchinson scored 10 points for Winslow (4-0).
Nolan Woods led Belfast (2-1) with 23 points.
FOREST HILLS 72, BUCKFIELD 50: Parker Desjardins scored 24 points to lead the Tigers in Jackman.
Dalton Gregoire added 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for Forest Hills (1-3).
Noah Wiley had 11 points for Buckfield (0-4).
ERSKINE 55, MCI 44: Noah Bonsant had 10 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks as the Eagles took the KVAC B win in Pittsfield.
Andrew Browne scored 15 points for Erskine (1-2), while Jack Jowett added 11.
Carter Pearl led MCI (0-4) with 12 points.
MESSALONSKEE 64, CAMDEN HILLS 54: Griffin Tuttle had seven points, eight rebounds, six assists and six blocks to help the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Camden.
Nate Violette led all scorers with 26 points, while James Kouletsis added an 18-point effort for Messalonskee (2-2).
Devin Bangel scored 25 points for Camden Hills (2-2).
MEDOMAK VALLEY 64, NOKOMIS 58: Kyle Donlin’s 18 points helped the Panthers remain unbeaten in Newport.
Brent Stewart added 12 points for Medomak (4-0).
Zach Hartsgrove had 27 points for Nokomis (3-1), while Brad Allen added 12 points and seven rebounds.
MT. BLUE 57, WATERVILLE 48: James Anderson scored 17 points to lead the Cougars to a victory over the Purple Panthers in Farmington.
Cooper Hollingsworth added 12 points for Mt. Blue (1-3).
Devin Lebrun led Waterville (0-4) with 12 points.
VALLEY 63, RANGELEY 52: Joshua Brown scored 22 points and had six rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to a win over the Lakers in Rangeley.
Nathan Ames had six rebounds and four assists for Valley (5-0).
Kyle Larochelle had 16 points for Rangeley (0-2).
