WATERVILLE — Spectrum Generations will offer free Savvy Caregiver Training from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 4 through Feb. 8 at the Muskie Center, 38 Gold St.

The 12-hour educational training program is designed for family and friends that are caring for individuals with dementia living in the community. Those who attend can learn what dementia is and how it affects the person and a person’s behaviors, get tips and strategies for interacting and communicating with the person affected and learn how to understand and manage challenging behaviors. They also can develop a sense of confidence in caregiving and learn to care for themselves. Pre-registration is required; call 660-9268 to sign up.
