Western Avenue in Auburn is closed and residents are being evacuated as crews work to contain a gas leak.
The Auburn Fire Department described the gas leak as “serious” and asked people to stay clear of the area. The road is completely shut down, the department said in a Facebook post.
Central Maine Power has been called to the scene to cut electricity to the area.
