DAMARISCOTTA — Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center will host its weekly lunch and learn program at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at the center at 521 Main St.

Following the luncheon Dudley Hendrick will share stories and pictures of the work and projects that he, Robert Shetterly, “Americans Who Tell the Truth,” and Lily Yeh of Barefoot Artists, Philidelphia, were involved with over several stays in the Nablus area of Israel and on the West Bank. During their visit to Al Aqaba a mural, that now takes center stage in the village, was painted.

The process of creating the mural cemented their relationship with the entire community and its charismatic leader. Mayor Sami Sadiq, the victim of an Israeli soldier’s bullet (made in the U.S.), has been confined to a wheelchair since the early 1970s.

Reservations are required. To make a reservation, call 563-1363 by noon Monday, Jan. 23. Suggested donation is $6.50, or $5 for those older than 60.

The Learn portion of the program, will begin at noon.
