Maine Technology Institute awarded more than $95,000 in its latest round of funding, which leveraged nearly $1.6 million in private financing.

The organization that supports and fosters technology startups made seven awards:

 Warmsoft LLC and Jonathan Amory of Portland, received a grant of $5,000 and provided an equal match. Warmsoft is developing technology that can substantially increase the insulation value of windows while shading or filtering light and enhancing aesthetics.

• Security Solutions of Maine of Bangor, received a grant of $670 and provided a match of $800. It is using the money to complete business planning and market analysis to support the commercialization of its Immediate Danger Signal product.

 Boreal Games of Farmingdale received $5,000 and provided a $9,500 match. Boreal will use the money for market research related to a digital, tactical collectible card game enhanced by interactive elements not found in any other card games.

 NBT Solutions received $24,565 and provided a $58,435 match. The Portland company will use the money to perform sales and marketing activities around its VETRO FiberMap, a network infrastructure mapping service for small to mid-sized Internet Service Providers building and operating fiber optic networks.

 RockStep Solutions Inc. of Portland received a grant of $49,978 and is providing a match of $1,489,465. The company has developed a new information management system called Climb to accelerate biomedical research. The grant will help RockStep build sales and marketing infrastructure to meet the company’s near-term sales goals.

 bluShift Aerospace Inc. of Brunswick was awarded $5,000 and is providing a match of $5,040. The money will be used to help the company get a grant from NASA so bluShift can accelerate its development and commercialization of a biofuel-derived rocket, and hire more people.

• Eldertide LLC of Dresden was awarded $5,000 and providing a match of $5,000. The money will help it expand a previous version of a technology that produced microbiologically stable liquid concentrates that can be used in soldiers’ rations.
