Emily Gliniewicz, of Belgrade, was recently awarded two scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year. She received the Alice M. Savage M.D., Ph.D. Scholarship and the Maine Scholarship.

The Alice M. Savage M.D., Ph.D. Scholarship was established in 1999 by Dr. Alice M. Savage ’57 to support students from Maine, her home state. It is awarded annually to a student from Maine with a strong academic record.

The Maine Scholarship was estalished in 2014 by Stephanie Summers Leouzon, class of 1984. Leouzon is originally from Sanford. The scholarship is awarded each year to a student from Maine with a strong academic record.

Gliniewicz, a Messalonskee High School graduate, is a biochemistry major at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

She is the daughter of Chery Bickford, of Hallowell, and Mark Gliniewicz, of Belgrade.
