Killed in the crash was Earl Belanger, 68, of West Minot Road, said Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

State troopers who investigated the crash said the van hit Belanger’s car on the driver’s side about 6 p.m. Belanger died at the scene. His passenger, Claire Dobbs, 59, who also lives at the home, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with non-life threatening injuries.
