WATERVILLE — The Waterville Music Boosters will host a silent auction, swing dance and concert on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Waterville Senior High School. Refreshments and the silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., and dance lessons will be offered at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the silent auction and dance will fund scholarships for students to attend music camp in the summer of 2017 and fund the high school music trip to New York City in March 2018.

The Waterville Junior High Jazz Band and the Waterville Senior High Jazz Band, will open for the Opus One Big Band.

The big band is comprised of Maine musicians who support music programs by performing benefit concerts throughout the state. The band, under the direction of Dale Perkins, includes music educators and performers from across the state.

Band members for the evening could include Eric Thomas of Colby College, Andy Forster of Messlonskee High School and Ciara Hargrove of Waterville Senior High School. Other musicians include John Morneau, Curt Allen, Jason Ward, Tom Stott, Gary Comingore, John Furman, Peter Stuard, John Reeves, Lee Prager, Dan Labonte, Meg Hausman, Megan Kennedy, Jim Perkins, Key Labrecque, Doug Kennedy and Dan Schneider.

Tickets cost $5 and are available in the office at Waterville Senior High School and at Jorgensen’s Cafe in downtown Waterville.
