AUGUSTA — Fort Western & Arnold Expedition Historical Society will present a talk by Kenny Wing at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, in the second floor Council Chambers of the Augusta City Center, 16 Cony St.
Wing, of Eustis, will discuss Arnold’s march on the Upper Dead River from the time of Arnold’s carry over to Carry Ponds to just east of what is now Flagstaff Lake to the upper end of Chain of Ponds area at the Canadian border.
He will draw out places that are named because of Arnold and talk about some of Arnold’s trials and problems as he went through this area.
Wing is co-author of “The Lost Villages of Flagstaff Lake” (2010), which will be available for purchase and signing.
All lectures are free and the center is handicapped accessible.
Refreshments will be provided. Donations will be accepted.
In case of inclement weather, Sunday, March 19, will be reserved as a snow date.
