AUGUSTA — The champs are still champs.
Again.
The Lewiston High School cheerleading team won its third consecutive Class A state title and sixth in the last seven seasons with another strong showing at the Augusta Civic Center on Saturday morning.
The Blue Devils scored 95 points to win the title while Brewer (88.3), Gorham (88.1), Bangor (87.2) and Marshwood (87.1) followed.
Mt. Blue finished 12th with 67.7 points.
Hermon won the won the Class B state title with 88.1 points. Ellsworth was second with 85.2 and Medomak (84.1). Gardiner was 12th with a score of 53.6.
In Class C, Lisbon (70.9) edged Central (68.2) and Houlton (67). Monmouth finished eighth (56.3).
Central Aroostook won the Class D cheering title with 70 points. Penobscot (63.4) finished second and Machias (63.2) followed in third.
The B/C competition is being held at the Civic Center this afternoon.
