If Gov. Paul LePage refuses to uphold the wishes of Maine voters in enacting ranked-choice voting and in raising the state minimum wage, he should apply the same logic to his own re-election in 2014. He uses the sorry excuse that we were misinformed when we passed these referendum measures. If so, then we must have been similarly misinformed when we re-elected him. We thought we were voting for a governor who would heed the wishes of the citizens of Maine, not a fascist who would throw out all the votes he disagreed with. Mainers need to have the power to recall governors who abuse their authority to abrogate the expressed wishes of the people.
