It’s been over a month since the $9-an-hour minimum wage went into effect. I work in a fast-food establishment and it has not made my coworkers better workers. They have just received a raise to $9 an hour for being in the right place at the right time.

I also hope that it affects welfare benefits that the state can cut back on now that some recipients are now making $1.10 over minimum wage from last year.
