WATERVILLE — The Morning Sentinel Sunday sports section earned national honors Friday in the 2016 Associated Press Sports Editors contest.
The Sunday sports section placed in the top 5 among papers sized 15,000 or under.
It’s the third consecutive year the Morning Sentinel sports section has won APSE honors.
Furthermore, Kennebec Journal sports writer Drew Bonifant placed in the top 10 of the game story writing category for his story on the Class D South football final between Lisbon and Winthrop/Monmouth.
