We understand that many are fearful for our national security. Winthrop Center Friends Church of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) believes that we can be safe as a nation and show honor and respect to the people of the global community in which we live. Therefore, we urge President Donald Trump to drop his executive order on refugees and immigration.
Many of our ancestors were immigrants and refugees. History shows that immigrants and refugees study and work hard, contribute to our communities, and become grateful, responsible citizens. The United States is blessed with a diversity of faiths and backgrounds, and we need that diversity to thrive as a nation.
