WATERVILLE — Common Street Arts will celebrate visual arts programs in area schools with a special student exhibit at Common Street Arts Gallery in the Center Building, 93 Main St. Youth Art Month showcases visual arts projects from grades Pre-K to 12 at 10 area schools, as well as child care institutions and homeschool groups. The exhibition features approximately 100 student works in multiple media including sculpture, drawing, painting, mixed media and more.

The exhibition opens with a free, public reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 3, featuring live music from local youth performers. The exhibit will run through Saturday, April 1.

Families are invited to enjoy additional activities at the gallery including Dance and Theater Games, part of the Family Fun Series scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11, and Yoga for Kids from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday March 18. The events are sponsored by Inland Hospital and Colby College.

The gallery is open noon-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
