Bangor police say they have a suspect in the homicide of Terrance Durel Sr., 36, the New Orleans resident who was shot Sunday afternoon at a home on Ohio Street and died later that evening at a local hospital.
Lt. David Bushey identified the suspect Monday night as Antoinne J. Bethea, 40, also known as “Prince.” He did not provide Bethea’s hometown.
“We are actively seeking Antoinne J. Bethea via an arrest warrant for the violation of murder,” Bushey said in a statement.
A reward has been posted for information leading to the arrest of Bethea, Bushey said. He did not disclose the amount of the reward. Police released two photos of Bethea.
Bushey said the slaying of Durel remains under investigation by the Bangor Police Department and the Maine Attorney General’s Office.
Bushey said police officers were called to the 100 block of Ohio Street about 3 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of shots fired.
When they arrived, officers found Durel, who had been wounded. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The state medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and determined that Durel’s death was a homicide, Bushey said in a statement.
