The American Legion Department of Maine Project seeks volunteers to help remove American flags at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, from both Maine Veterans’ Memorial cemeteries in Augusta.

Volunteers are asked to gather at the flag pole at the top of the hill at the Civic Center Drive location. The project will be led by Susan Morse Sims and Charles Bennett.

The removal is planned because of the rain this week and predicted rain in the future. The flags can not be brought in damp or the flags will be ruined.
