WINSLOW — The Winslow softball team scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to snap a scoreless game and then coasted to an 8-1 victory over Presque Isle in a Class B North preliminary round game Tuesday afternoon.

No. 7 Winslow (13-4) advanced to the quarterfinals, where it will play at No. 2 Old Town (14-2).

No. 10 Presque Isle finished 6-11.

Broghan Gagnon pitched a complete for the Black Raiders, allowing an unearned run while striking out four. She didn’t walk anyone.

Bailey Robbins homered and Haley Ward had two singles and an RBI for Winslow.

Sarah Guimond had a two-run single in the sixth inning while Robbins capped the rally with her solo home run to left.

BASEBALL

CAMDEN HILLS 3, LAWRENCE 2: Jason Mooers scored the winning run on an infield hit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning as the No. 8 Windjammers (7-10) prevailed in a Class A North preliminary round game.

Mooers doubled in the seventh before Jack Moody brought him home later in the inning.

Devon Webb and Jared Dodge each went 1 for 3 with an RBI to pace the No. 9 Bulldogs (6-11).
