A collision between a car and a dump truck injured three teenagers and closed a section of Broadturn Road in Scarborough on Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Thomas Chard said the road was closed for more than two hours after a Ford Taurus rolled past a stop sign while turning onto Broadturn Road from Burnham Road. He said the car was struck by a dump truck that was headed north on Broadturn at the time.

The driver of a car, a 17-year-old, had to be extricated from the Taurus, Chard said, and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The two teenage passengers in the car suffered minor injuries, Chard said.

The driver of the dump truck was not hurt, he said.

Chard said no tickets were issued in the crash, but the police investigation is continuing.
