The DaPonte String Quartet’s upcoming concert, “More for Four,” will be performed six times, from July 3-18, in venues in Rockport, E. Boothbay, So. Bristol, Brunswick, Stonington and Portland.

Four, For Tango is a lively piece by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, who is credited with inventing the “Nuevo Tango.” Like a good fusion chef, Piazzolla created this work by infusing a traditional Argentinian tango with American jazz.

Next, contemporary composer John Heiss will perform Microcosms.

Samuel Barber will perform the Adagio movement from his String Quartet and Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 7 in F Major that wraps up the concert.

The lineup:

Monday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Opera House, 6 Central St. in Rockport. Tickets cost $30.
