Lincoln County Historical Association will host Kermess from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 23, on the grounds of the historic Pownalborough Court House in Dresden, an LCHA site located on the Kennebec River. This year’s event, Kermess at the Pownalborough Court House, will feature an old-fashioned pig roast (or a vegetarian option), with entertainment by the music duo Castlebay.

Kermess is a Dutch word for an outdoor festival to raise funds for a charitable organization. Tickets can be purchased online at lincolncountyhistory.org. Raffle tickets for gift certificates at 10 local restaurants also are available; winners need not be present.

After dinner, event participants can bid on desserts in a cake walk, and a live auction featuring items such as four nights at a guest house in Nova Scotia, a day at a spa, a package of tickets to three local repertory theaters, an airplane ride for three over Midcoast Maine, and a moveable feast for six people to be held in two Wiscasset homes.John Bottero is auctioneer.
