AUGUSTA — Madison Junior High School student Ethan Stone was presented the Secretary of State’s Eighth Grade Citizenship Award on June 13 by Sen. Rod Whittemore, R-Skowhegan, and Rep. Brad Farrin, R-Norridgewock, according to a news release from the Senate Republican Office.

The award recognizes one eighth-grade student from each Maine school who demonstrates the qualities of active participation in civic or community activities, good scholarship and school involvement.

“Ethan Stone is undoutedly deserving of this recognition,” said Whittemore, according to the release. “He is very motivated and involved within his school and his communty. His teachers describe him as responsible, friendly and an extremely industrious worker, and his outstanding attitude really makes him well-liked by others. He truly represents Madison’s core values well.”
