Alex Audette, of the Chelsea and Jefferson Maine fire departments, recently graduated from the Vermont State Fire Cadet Program at the Vermont State Fire Academy in Pittsford, Vermont.
Audette was the first Maine junior firefighter to complete the week-long program. Cadets completed training in First Aid/CPR, technical rescue, hose advance, communications, wildland firefighting, search and rescue, water supply, flag etiquette and Color Guard procedures.

He has been a volunteer firefighter for the Jefferson and Chelsea fire departments for two years and is a sophomore at Cony High School.
