As a visiting Marylander, I read with interest the comments Maine Republican Party Executive Director Jason Savage and party Chairwoman Demi Kouzounas expressed on Democrat Scott Hamann’s inappropriate Facebook criticism of President Donald Trump (”Legislator from South Portland blasted for anti-Trump rant on Facebook,” July 12).
Savage demanded Hamann’s resignation while Kouzounas called Hamann “unhinged and dangerous.” I’m curious if Savage and Kouzounas were equally outraged when both Trump’s and Gov. Paul LePage’s language was as inappropriate as Hamann’s, or are their criticisms just the same sanctimonious hypocrisy I read about daily back in my own state?
