An Evening with Travis Mills, featuring an hors d’oeuvres reception and silent auction, is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Village Inn, 157 Main St., in Belgrade.

Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Mills, despite losing portions of both arms and legs from an IED while on active duty in Afghanistan, is a recalibrated warrior, motivational speaker, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees. The Travis Mills Foundation purchased the Maine Chance Lodge in Rome and is in the process of transforming the property into a fully accessible “smart home” retreat for combat wounded and disabled veterans and their families.

The purchase of your ticket will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the Village Inn, a signed copy of Mill’s memoir, “Tough as They Come,” entry into the silent auction and a short talk by Mills.

The silent auction will begin at 5 p.m..

Tickets cost $50 per person.
