NEWPORT — The Nokomis Regional High School football team scored on its first offensive play, and rolled to a 35-7 Class C North win over Medomak Valley Saturday afternoon.

Brock Graves caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Haining on the Warriors’ first play, staking Nokomis (3-1) to a 7-0 lead.

Tyler Pelletier returned a punt 60 yards for touchdown, and Colby Pinette ran for a pair of scores.

“We spread the wealth around today,” Nokomis coach Jake Rogers said.

Medomak Valley is now 1-3.

RICHMOND 4, RANGELEY 0: Matt Rines had a hat trick to lead the Bobcats (8-0-0) to the East/West Conference victory in Rangeley.

Rines scored twice in the first half off assists from Nate Kendrick and Trystin Shea, and then again in the second half off of an assist from Zach Small. Nate Kendrick scored the fourth goal, and Shea (two saves) and Kyle Tilton split goalkeeping duties.

Hunter Lowell made 13 saves for Rangeley (1-4-1).

GIRLS SOCCER

RICHMOND 0, RANGELEY 0: The Bobcats and Lakers played to a scoreless tie in East/West Conference action in Rangeley.

Sydney Tilton made one save for Richmond (4-3-1). Sydney Royce made 10 saves for Rangeley (2-1-2).

WATERVILLE 6, LAWRENCE 0: Anika Elias had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Fairfield.

Mackenzie St. Pierre added two goals for Waterville (6-1-1) while Paige St. Pierre had the other. Ally Drew made four saves.

Riley Hanson stopped four shots for the Bulldogs (1-6-0).

FIELD HOCKEY

WINSLOW 3, LAWRENCE 2, OT: Anna Petrovic’s goal at 6:45 of overtime lifted the Black Raiders to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Winslow.

Silver Clukey added two goals for Winslow (8-0), and Bodhi Littlefield had two assists.

Nora Buck scored both Lawrence (3-6) goals. Cassie Demers made five saves for Winslow. Marian Zawistowski had eight stops for the Bulldogs.

MCI 10, JOHN BAPST 1: Madisyn Hartley had three goals and an assist to lead the Huskies to the Class C win in Pittsfield.

Allysah Greene and Addi Williams each had two goals and an assist for MCI (5-2-1). April McAlpine scored twice for the Huskies, and Vivian Duncombe added a goal.

Julia Bate scored for John Bapst (3-5).
