READFIELD — The industry that begin in early Readfield will be the topic of a presentation set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Maranacook Community High School, 2250 Millard Harrison Drive.
Dale Potter-Clark will talk about the industry at various locations throughout town, in particular, East Readfield, Factory Square and Bean’s Mills. Participants can learn about Readfield’s early settlement and travel, natural resources applicable to early industry, the evolution of industry in Readfield, and locations of the mills and factories and about some of the manufacturers.
Two additional presentations are planned, they are: the history of the Readfield Community Library building, and the Currier-Eaton family on Oct. 18; and Kents Hill: From Farmland to Village on Nov. 15.
Cost is $12.50 for the first presentation or $30 to register for all three classes. Registration fees will help establish a museum in the streets in Readfield.
