OAKLAND — The Oakland Recreation Department will offer a fall foliage trip for area senior citizens on Thursday, Oct. 5.

Participants will meet in the rear parking lot next to the Baptist church on Church Street and the group will depart at 8:30 a.m., and will plan to return by 3:30 p.m.

This year’s trip is planned through the western Maine mountains with a stop for lunch at the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley. Participants are responsible for their lunch.

The trip is free to residents and $2 per person for nonresidents.

Registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made by calling the Oakland Town Office at 465-7357.
