UNION — John Bunker, noted apple authority, will give a talk about heirloom apples at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Vose Library, 392 Common Road.

Bunker will talk about the history of Maine apples and the challenge of finding and bringing back Maine’s rare heirloom varieties.

He established the Maine Heritage Orchard at MOFGA in Unity. The orchard is home to 300 historic pears and apples.
