A new knitting and needlework group will meet from 3 to 5 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month at Winslow Public Library, 136 Halifax St.
The library also will host a series of KVCAP-sponsored parenting classes. Active Parenting is a six-session video and discussion program for parents and caregivers of children ages 5-12.
This program is designed to help parents raise responsible children by teaching effective discipline techniques and encouragement skills. The class will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 16 through Nov. 20, at the library.
