WATERVILLE — A free hands-on demonstration about wool and felting wool will be presented by Auntie Dee of Felting Frenzy from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Exoptica Studio in the Artisanal Building at 10 Railroad Square.

Participants can drop in or spend the entire time learning the skill.

Needle felting creates soft figures made of dyed wools, it is a fun craft most anyone can do. Kits will be available for sale for $15, and there is the option to create a custom kit as well. “Angel” donations will be accepted.

This event is sponsored by Artisans on the Fringe to celebrate National Crafts Week and is the first of its Second Saturday events which will feature various arts and workshops. Artisans on the Fringe is a loosely knit organization that put on the July Yart Sale and has continued to meet to promote local artisans who make arts and crafts of all types.
