A Kennebunk woman was killed in a crash on I-93 in Massachusetts late Saturday afternoon, police said.
Massachusetts State Police said Deborah A. Burpee, 48, died shortly after 5 p.m. when her Honda Fit, headed northbound on the highway, hit a GMC Yukon from behind just south of exit 37A in Woburn. The Yukon was pushed into a 2012 Honda Civic by the impact.
Police said Burpee was taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, where she died.
Neither the driver of the Yukon, his six passengers nor the driver of the Civic was injured, police said.
Police said the crash is still under investigation, but it appeared that Burpee did not slow down, even though traffic was at a near standstill on that stretch of the highway.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
