Winslow Junior High School students raised money for a Houston school district that was hit by Hurricane Harvey this fall.
Winslow alumni Sarah Warner teaches at the Yes Prep Public Schools in Houston, students in her school lost their homes and some even their families.
A penny war was held at the junior high, pitting grade levels against each other, it raised $863.84. Another $371.27 was raised with bucket brigades during homecoming weekend. The total of $1,235.11 was sent to Ms. Warner’s school to be used for students, families and educators recover from the hurricane.
