WATERVILLE — “Joy to the Ville,” an all-day community event meant to celebrate the magic of the holiday season here on the Kennebec River, will take place throughout the day Saturday, Dec. 2, downtown.

Free, family-friendly holiday programming will take place throughout Waterville.

Partial listing of events

• Free Let’s Go! Healthy Holiday Activities with Inland Hospital from 9 to 11 a.m. at Common Street Arts.

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus from 1 to 5 p.m. at Kringleville in Castonguay Square, 93 Main S.

• The Children’s Book Cellar will host story time at 1, 2 and 3 p.m., at 52 Main St.;

• Holiday Card Making is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at the Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St.

• Holiday Story Time will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St.

• Free Green screen winter photos will be available from noon to 4 p.m. at the Waterville Opera House. Dress up and don a hat, scarf and more for a winter photo, a background you choose can be added.

• Free screening of “Elf” the movie will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Waterville Opera House.

• Free quilted Holiday Cards and Ornament Making is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. at Common Street Arts.

• Free performance of “Tomorrow” from “Annie the Musical” will begin before the movie “Elf” at the Waterville Opera House.

Colby College Museum of Art Bernard Langley Inspired Snow Globe making is set for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Common Street Arts.

• Free Sugar Cookie Decorating will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. at Holy Cannoli, 72 Main St. (while supplies last).

• Buon Natale! Free Cioccolato Caldo (Italian hot chocolate) for children and a free Cappuccino for adults will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Itali-ah Market and Restaurant, 74 Main St.

• Make a free holiday ornament at The Framemakers all day!

The event was organized by Waterville Creates! and its partners the Waterville Opera House, the Maine Film Center, the Waterville Public Library, the Colby College Museum of Art and the Children’s Discovery Museum.
