BRUNSWICK — Anna Schwartzberg, of Oakland, recently was honored as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar and as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Book Award winner at Bowdoin College.

The annual Sarah and Jamed Bowdoin Day honors undergraduates who distinguish themselves with excellence in scholarship.

Students honored are in the top (highest grade-point average) 20 percent of each class for the previous academic year. In addition, those scholars who earned a grade point average of 4.0 are designated Sarah and James Bowdoin Book Award winners.

Schwartzberg, who graduated from Bowdoin College in May with a double major in neuroscience and sociology, is the daughter of Dr. Gary Schwartzberg and Teresa Lee-Schwartzberg of Oakland.
