Madison Area Memorial High School Players recently presented its fall play “Hamlet with Extra Cheese.” Four condensed and wacky versions of Shakespeare’s plays were performed, including “Antony and Cleopatra,” “MacBeth,” “Richard III” and “Hamlet.”

This adaptation consisted of much slapstick, many sight gags, murder and mayhem in an attempt to bring the Bard back to the common folk. Furthermore, the cast learned sword-play and stage fighting as well as mastering many lines from the original plays.

The production was directed by Cheryl Seamans, and the cast and crew included Tyler Briggs, Nathaniel Fletcher, Sariah Lizak, Jasmine Moody, Kalob Richardson, Kirsty Richardson, Conner Theriault, Megan Waters, Stacie DePoala, Todd Edgerly, Rachel Hatfield, Nicholas Brown, Logan Irvine, Kaitlyn Pomelow, Dakota Sadler and Jasmine Jewell.
