WATERVILLE — Eight local area students graduated as certified nursing aides Nov. 30 from Mount Saint Joseph’s Residence and Rehabilitation facility. Those who earned certificates are Lisa Labrie-Hawkes, Savannah Higginbotham, Melinda McBreairty Sierra Preo, Tiffany Howie, Jeremiah Morse, Heather Dudley and Loreda Libby.
The event celebrated the completion of the collaborative partnerships among Regional School Unit 54 Community & Adult Education, the Augusta, Lewiston and Skowhegan CareerCenters, and Western Maine Community Action.
Candidates successfully completed two weeks/80 hours of work ready classroom learning of soft skills provided through the academy.
An On-the-Job Training Program for 448 hours and clinical training was provided through grant funding facilitated by the Career Centers, Western Maine Community Action and the Maine Department of Labor.
